Our instructional support professionals are here to assist UAFS students and faculty in the design, development, and delivery of distance learning courses. Our team offers training and technical support to students and faculty in all forms of distance learning.
- Full-online courses are those in which students are not required to attend class on campus, but faculty do have online office hours. Course materials, class assignments, discussions, projects, and quizzes are available online. An additional fee is charged for these courses.
- Synchronous online courses are those in which students are required to attend virtual class sessions as listed in the class schedule. Course materials, class assignments, discussions, projects, and quizzes are available online. An additional fee is charged for these courses.
- Hybrid courses are those in which students are required to attend a portion of their classes on campus. The rest of the course will be conducted online, where the majority of course materials, class assignments, discussions, projects, and quizzes are available. No additional fee is charged for these courses.
- Web-enhanced courses are those in which students attend all classes on campus but some course materials
are available online. Final exams and major tests are taken in the classroom. No additional
fee is charged for these courses.
Important Note for Prospective Online or Hybrid Course Students
The University of Arkansas - Fort Smith is approved by the Arkansas Division of Higher Education to participate in the National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement (NC-SARA) to offer online programs and courses to out-of-state students. NC-SARA provides states a mechanism for monitoring the quality of online programs delivered by out-of-state colleges and universities to its citizens. Institutions that are members of SARA are authorized to provide online education to students from all SARA member states. Additional details, including complaint and grievance procedures, can be found on the UAFS State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement webpage.
